Time to look at the books I added to my shelves this week with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews! Not necessarily books I bought - also includes books I borrowed, was given or otherwise ended up with. Weeks I don't buy any books I'll scramble around my shelves and find some I haven't shared in an StS post yet!

Some exciting additions this week and a couple I dug back out - Nine Lives because I'm going to New Orleans soon, and The Book of Negroes because the show just started and I really should read it before watching...

The Book of Negroes - Lawrence Hill
Nine Lives - Dan Baum

The Weight of Blood - Laura McHugh
All the Bright Places - Jennifer Niven

And thanks to my lovely friend Martha, I've got some comedic genius coming my way:

Hyperbole and a Half - Allie Brosh
My Booky Wook - Russell Brand

And the amazing crew at Random House of Canada sent me some exciting upcoming releases that I cannot wait to devour:

Leaving Before the Rains Come - Alexandra Fuller
If I Fall, If I Die - Michael Christie

I'm very excited to dive into these and wallow for a while (too bad about real life that keeps getting in the way, huh?). What about you guys? Pick up any exciting books this week or rediscover any on your shelves? Share in the comments!

  1. I'm so glad you like your books! :) If I Fall If I Die looks good. And I think I already have The Weight of Blood on my TBR--it sounds intense!!

    1. LOVE. Love the books! Thank you so much! I'm excited to read If I Fall, If I Die - I've heard good things and a favourable comparison between this and The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-Time (which I also need to finish - oops!). I hope TWoB isn't too creepy - it's not a very long book, so I *think* I can handle it!

  2. Oh, you already got All The Bright Places. :) Have you started it yet? Let me know what you think. I want to talk about it. :)

    1. I just started it! Replying to your other comment with more detail.... :)
