1. Amelie
I love the whimsy in this movie, and the sense that there is a special kind of magic in everyday life if you only know how to see it.
2. 84, Charing Cross Road
Well, obviously.
3. The Avengers
RDJ. Loki. Witty banter. Superheroes. Really, what's not to like?
4. The Blind Side
It was a toss up between this and Remember the Titans. I have a thing for heartwarming football movies, okay?
5. Empire Records
Pure nostalgia.
Oh, and so many more. The Usual Suspects. Fight Club. Snatch. Ocean's Eleven. Bridget Jones' Diary. What about you guys? Which movies make your top five list?

Deletethere are times when I think I couldn't find you more awesome, then you pull Empire Records out the bag, god damn that film is amazing. Me and my older sister would watch it like every day for months, we were so obsessed. I raved about it to my OH too and after years together he finally watched it, he wasn't impressed. I however sat with a smile on my face the whole time quoting it haha

Yes, someone who shares my love for that film! I couldn't even tell you how many times I watched it! The characters were so hilarious.
DeleteI agree, Lucas though, he is just the best. My sister was so obsessed with him, partly the reason we watched it so much. As far as looking wise I was more of a Mark girl :P

DeleteGreat list! REMEMBER THE TITANS!!! I love that movie <3 Didn't even think of that one. I also really loved The Blind Side and The Avengers, they are both amazing for totally different reasons. I haven't seen the other 3, I have been meaning to see Amelie for years now though.
ReplyDeleteI love Sandra B.'s character in The Blind Side. So feisty and doesn't take any bullshit. And The Avengers... well, honestly. What's not to like? I love Amelie - but it's probably not for everyone. It's more artsy and it's in French so it's subtitled. I just love the main character so much and the quirkiness of the film.

DeleteYES to Blindside! Oh gosh that movie was the best and I think Sandra Bullock stole the entire thing most of the time. ;) I loved her lines. Heh. And OF COURSE to the Avengers. It has RDJ in it. It's obviously the best.
ReplyDeleteI agree. My favourite was her line about her gun, when the guy asked her if it was a saturday night special and she says, "and it shoots just fine all the other days too." LOVED. And yes, RDJ. Have you seen the Inside the Actor's Studio with him? It blew my mind.
